Description
John the Apostle sits among the rocks of Patmos with an open scroll across his lap, writing as he looks toward the sea and the glowing horizon. The isolated shoreline, rugged cliffs, ink vessel, and unfurled manuscript point to his exile and prophetic calling in the opening of Revelation. Banished “on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus,” John receives the command to write what he sees and send it to the churches. The scene emphasizes faithful witness under suffering: the servant of Christ is physically removed from the churches, yet spiritually entrusted with a vision for them. This artwork is suited for teaching on Revelation, prophecy, perseverance, exile, Scripture writing, and the hope of Christ’s final victory.
