Jesus reaches out and touches the face of a man afflicted with leprosy, meeting his uncleanness with compassion rather than distance. This scene reflects the Gospel account in which a leper comes to Christ seeking cleansing. Under the Law, leprosy carried social and ceremonial isolation, yet Jesus does not recoil. He touches the man and says, “I will; be clean,” revealing His authority over disease and His willingness to restore the outcast.
