Description
Jesus Christ hangs upon the wooden cross beneath a darkened sky, His head bowed under the crown of thorns with the inscription above Him recalling the charge placed over the crucified King. The close view centers on the suffering of the Savior: pierced, mocked, and lifted up at Golgotha as the Lamb of God bearing sin. The thorn crown, rough timber, wounded body, and storm-lit heavens all point to the Passion narrative, where humiliation becomes the throne of redemption. In the crucifixion, the Gospels reveal both human cruelty and divine mercy; Christ gives Himself as the once-for-all sacrifice, fulfilling the suffering servant hope and opening the way of forgiveness through His blood. This solemn artwork serves Christian teaching, Holy Week reflection, Good Friday worship, sermon visuals, and devotional meditations on atonement, sacrifice, and the love of God displayed at Calvary.
