Men of Benjamin seize young women among the vineyard paths as camels and travelers crowd the road, capturing the tense aftermath of Israel’s civil conflict in the book of Judges. The scene reflects the episode in which the surviving Benjamites, nearly cut off as a tribe, were instructed to take wives from the daughters of Shiloh during a feast.
