Levitical Sacrifice at the Altar

Description
Levitical priests stand beside a stone altar as a bull is laid for sacrifice and a goat is brought forward for the next offering. Dense smoke rises behind the altar, and temple columns frame the sacred setting, placing the scene within the worship life of ancient Israel. The image reflects the sacrificial system described in Leviticus, where bulls, goats, and other clean animals were presented before the Lord as burnt offerings, sin offerings, and acts of covenant worship. In biblical theology, these sacrifices taught the seriousness of sin, the need for atonement, and the holiness of approaching God according to His command. For Christian teaching, the scene also points forward to the fulfillment of sacrifice in Christ, the final and sufficient offering.
